As Twilight Junkies, we are always relating EVERYTHING back to Twilight. I know that I'm not the only one! Well, in my case everything relates back to Twilight and anything related to Twilight.
Being a Chicago native, you can imagine my excitement when I read in
Water For Elephants
(*SPOILER ALERT*)
that after many years with the circus, Jacob gets a job as a vet at
[side note: they changed the zoo in the script :( So sadly, no Rob filming here at the zoo]
This is where I started jumping up and down saying...."that's my zoo! that's my zoo!" It doesn't take much, seriously, to make me happy. And since I have a membership, we make frequent visits.
Luckily on this last visit, my older son (who would ridicule me mercilessly if he knew) was with some friends and went off on his own, which gave me the opportunity to bring Fun-Sized Edward with me for some photo-ops.
So with my partners in crime, my daughter Lauren and son Matt, we set out to take pictures of Fun-Sized Edward at the zoo that might be Twilight/Rob related in any way........
Fun-Size Edward at the South Gate |
Can't find your way around the zoo without a map! |
Yummy! I think Edward could feast on a snow leopard. This is as close to a mountain lion as we could get. |
Vampire Bats! |
Vampire Bat Cave |
Penguins....lovely. |
Funny how all the Edward keychains were sold out but...... |
there were plenty of Jacob ones left!!!! LOL |
Edward is almost at tall as Michael Jordan! |
Sadly, we missed the elephants on this day!!!!
Hopefully we'll catch them next time.
There were a few other times where I wanted to take a picture but there were too many people around. As much as I love my Mini-E, I feel kinda stupid sometimes taking pics when a bunch of people are around.
With all the Twilighty stuff calming down for a while, I think my strange random posts like this are going to be getting more frequent.
I know you chicks will understand though.....that's why I ♥ you!
Have a great weekend!
Penguins are awesome - that is my favorite picture. I love how his wing is around Edward. So cute. Great idea for a post - too bad you missed the elephants :)
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love Twiobservations, Marie. You got some great finds!!! Love it. It's even more fun seeing pictures of your kids now that I've met them in person.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Lisa
Awesome.. I need to get back up to the Zoo some day soon. When I worked there the shop that I worked was right outside the Elephants so I saw them everyday over the course of 2 summers, too bad this was waaaay before WFE. And even B.T. (Before Twilight).
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a lot of fun. And I'm glad Mini-E didnt eat the snow leopard :)
I really need to get myself a mini E. He makes everything more fun:)
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I used to hang out at Brookfield Zoo all the time. I might still have a wax gorilla somewhere in the back of my closet. I miss Chicago.
ReplyDeleteOh, mini Edward at a zoo, can be fun but also catastrophic. LOL I love that all the Edward keychains were sold out and there were a whole mess of Jacob ones. So funny. And the Penguins, lovely. LOLOL!!
ReplyDelete@RobzSinger: You have no idea!
I love how taking mini-E can turn any day into a fun outing.
ReplyDeleteI especially liked the street signs names and the vampire bat area. You reminded me how much I miss the zoo, we have an elephant at our local one and I think I'll pay it a visit. Your kids are adorable and I love how they put up with mini-E tagging along everywhere they go.
Penguins and Edward at the zoo, lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who feels compelled to look for "Edward" personalized items.
How great are those pictures? I love it. My daughter would go for it, but hinny would draw the line at a mini Edward. I might have to buy one and keep him in my purse. He could sit on my desk and we could hang out at work while I watch Twilight and New Moon on my iPhone, Carlisle. :)
ReplyDeleteWAY jealous of your Eclipse Edward! I haven't bought one yet, but I need to ASAP! Love the pics!!!
