Wow! There is so much to be said about Breaking Dawn. I don't even know where to start.
I've decided to start with the one thing that keeps haunting me - even in my sleep.
This song.
Turning Page by Sleeping At Last

Turning Page by Sleeping At Last
I've waited a hundred years
But I'd wait a million more for you
Nothing prepared me for the privilege of being yours
If I had only felt the warmth within your touch
If I had only seen how you smile when you blush
Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough
I would have known what I was living for
What I've been living for
Your love is my turning page
Only the sweetest words remain
Every kiss is a cursive line
Every touch is a redefining phrase
I surrender who I've been for who you are
Nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart
If I had only felt how it feels to be yours
I would have known what I've been living for all along
What I've been living for
We're tethered to the story we must tell
When I saw you well I knew we'd tell it well
With the whisper we will tame the vicious scenes
I had been listening to the soundtrack before I saw the movie, and when I really listened to the lyrics, I realized that they were so about Edward. I was really thrilled that the writer of the song, Ryan O'Neal, actually wrote this from EPOV. Melt my heart!!!!! Some of those lines seem right out of the book. I also found out that they are from our neck of the woods - Wheaton, IL - which isn't too far. Pretty cool!
(and Ryan is Team Edward!!!!)
Then, seeing it with the wedding and honeymoon scenes, sealed the deal for me. Turning Page is now my favorite song from the soundtrack - possibly the entire saga
(though I still do love me some Supermassive Black Hole -
I ain't gonna lie!).
So anyway, show some love to the creators of this beautiful, amazing song......

OMG ME TOO!!! I just did a post and ended with that song. It chills me. I adore it. I want to make up to Edward with it. I was listening to the soundtrack this afternoon...it was raining, I'd seen BD for the 2nd time this morning & I was baking...it was all very poignant in some weird way.

@Jen - I'm gonna head over and check out your post! I've been a blog fail in posting as well as reading everyone else's!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe more I was thinking about it, since the song is from EPOV, I wonder if Ryan read Midnight Sun before he wrote the song? Or maybe some FF? There's lots of EPOV in FF. That would be really cool!
Hit the nail on the head here, UAB!
ReplyDeleteLove this, love that you posted again and loved BD!
It's not surprising some of the best music comes from the Midwest!
Yes!!! This song has made me the most excited for the soundtrack!
ReplyDeleteI love the story behind it--the singer wrote it just for BD from Edward's POV!
Perfect and beautiful.
