Okay Junkies....to kick things off, Kassie and I thought we should go first. So here goes nothing.....
What got you into Twilight?
My addiction to Twilight began in January, 2009. My friend had recommended that I read Twilight a few months earlier, when the movie came out. So that January, I was shopping at Target and decided to finally pick up a copy of Twilight. I just grabbed and told my husband, "Oh, I've been meaning to read this". Who knew how significant that little moment really was? So I read it like 2 days and was totally hooked. As soon as I finished it, raced back to Target and not only picked up New Moon, but Eclipse as well. I knew I HAD to see the movie, and luckily it was still in the theaters. So that following weekend I called my sister and begged her to go with me. I wanted to go so bad, I was willing to go sit in the theater by myself, but my sis is such a good sport, she went along and we brought our daughters. (8 and 9 at the time) That was it....we were all hooked! We actually arrived at the theater that day a bit early, so I ran to a nearby Target to pick up Breaking Dawn. So that's how it all started.
My sister is totally my BFF!!!!!
Do your family and friends know how deep your twi-obsession goes (be specific about what your obsession is, how do you hide it, or how do you advertise it)?
I've actually written a previous post that you can read here about this but in summary, I'm pretty over the top about my Twilight Obsession and anyone who knows me, knows about it. The degree of depth that they know about, depends on how well they know me. My obsession does cause some problems here at home. My family is very divided on the issue. My husband and older son are VERY ANTI-Twilight, but my daughter and younger son love Twilight. You know what Lincoln said about a house divided.......
I keep my Twilighty stuff in my room.....I am afraid of what might happen to it if I left it around the house. Weekends are for Twilight shirts, but during the week during school, I'm a little more subtle. I wear my Bella bracelet, Cullen crest necklace, and now my Bella engagement ring to school. Occasionally, I wear a Twilight t-shirt to school but I always have Twilight buttons on my coat or jacket. My classroom has a few pics on the little bulletin board behind my desk and I have a huge Cullen Crest as my desktop wallpaper on my computer. I moved down to 2nd grade from 4th grade and 2nd graders don't quite get it. For our school's Family Reading Night, we had an event where different teachers dressed as a character from a book and read. So of course I chose Twilight and dressed as Bella (a fat Bella, okay!) and decorated my classroom to look like Forks.....so yeah, I'm pretty much completely out of the Twilight closet I would say! LOL
Are you team edward, team jacob, team (fill in the blank)? Why, is it because of the character or the person that plays them in the movie?
I was Team Edward before I saw the movie, however the fact that Rob plays Edward is the sparkly icing on the cake! I definitely fell in love with the character Edward before Rob. Rob just brings another sexy new dimension to the whole Edward experience. I love Edward because he is he has that romantic old world charm, and because of the way he makes Bella feel loved and protected.
Which Twilight book is your favorite and why?
My favorite book is definitely Twilight because Bella and Edward fall in love in this book. I love them getting to know each other. One of my favorite parts of the book (and movie) is Bella figuring out what Edward is and revealing this discovery to him. That always give me goosebumps. I like it better in the book, but the movie is epic because of the amazing music and I LOVE when Bella brushes past Edward right before he follows her into the woods. GAH!!!!
If you read fanfic and you're willing to admit it which is your favorite story?
I've only discovered FF relatively recently and have actually only read one complete story and a few I've read some of. I would have to say my favorite right now is Let Your Mercy Fall on Me by Robicorn. I also love Warmth by KatieBelleCullen, because it is definitely closer to how I would have loved SM to have written Isle Esme in BD. Haven't finished yet though.
Which person would you most likely still be into if they were not involved in Twilight; explain why.
I would still be into Rob if he were not in Twilight. Rob is a great actor and I love him in every movie I've seen him in. He really does a great job of bringing each unique character to life and making it believable. I never once think of Edward while watching Rob in Remember Me or How to Be. I am looking forward to the many diverse movies Rob has in the works right now, because I know he will do each character justice, and totally think our boy has Oscar in his future!
If you ever met your favorite Twilight star how would you react? What would you do or say?
I have met Stephenie Meyer in person and she was just as awesome and cool as can be. Of course she is not likely to bring out the same reaction from me that meeting say.....The Precious....would. I think I was pretty much mute, but my sis got a conversation going by asking her about finishing Midnight Sun. Here is SM signing my copy of Twilight!!!!!!
You might recall that back in November I was lucky enough to go to the Oprah show with Stephenie Meyer, and see New Moon a week early! You can read about it here.
Kassie, Kristen, Victoria and I did not actually "meet" the Trinity, but we were about 30 feet away from them at the Twilight Oprah show last month (You can read about it here, here and here) so that kinda counts, right???? How did we react???? Well, Kassie yelled Rob! and got his attention, and then we waved and smiled like crazy people.....and Rob smiled and waved back. SQUEEEE!!!!! Now if I were to actually have a conversation with Rob, I would hope that I could keep it together and not spew out the filthy, perverted things that I would like to say to him. LOL I would love the opportunity to give it a try Rob.
If you were to replace any person in Twilight who would you replace them with and why?
I would replace Bryce Dallas-Howard with Rachelle as Victoria. No offense Bryce, but I love Rachelle and miss her. I think she gives off a much better bad-ass, hippie vibe and wish that they had kept her for Eclipse.
How many times have you read the Twilight Saga? If you've read it multiple times, what makes you keep rereading? If you've only read it once, why haven't you reread it?????
I have read the Twilight Saga (all 4 books)....are you ready for this....16 times! I am on my 17th time right now, and I'm into Breaking Dawn. I do read other stuff (or try to in some cases) but I always have to go back. I miss Forks sooooo much when I'm not there!
What is your most precious item in your Twilight collection and why?
My most precious item in my Twilight collection would have to be my copy of Twilight signed my Stephenie Meyer.
What is the craziest Twilight related think you've done?
You guys who are reading this would not think it's crazy, but non-Twilight people do. It would be throwing big parties for the DVD releases of Twilight and New Moon.

What is your favorite song from the Twilight Saga and why?
"Let Me Sign" is my favorite song, hands down! I loved it before I even knew it was Rob singing it! His voice is sooooo sexy and it fits so well with the vibe of the movie in that moment. It is amazing. Please, please, PLEASE Rob.....you must do more music. We love to hear your beautiful voice!
Tell us your favorite quote from each book?
Twilight - "It was hard to decide what to wear. I doubted there were any etiquette books detailing how to dress when your vampire sweetheart takes you home to meet his vampire family" - Bella
New Moon - "Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me." - Bella
Eclipse- "I coveted you. I had no right to want you - but I reached out and took you anyway. And now look what's become of you! Trying to seduce a vampire." -Edward
Breaking Dawn - (too many to choose!) "I felt like I was in some Goth version of a bad sitcom. Instead of being the A/V dweeb about to ask the head cheerleader to the prom, I was the finished-second-place werewolf about to ask the vampires wife to shack up and procreate. Nice. " - Jacob
Has Twilight taken over your life? Explain.
Ummmm....DUH! Obviously! LOL Twilight has intertwined itself into every aspect of my life, for better or for worse. Mostly for better, but I have had some experience of the worst too.
Tell us anything else Twilighty about yourself that you would like to share.
I have to say that my best Twilight experience so far was the Twilight Oprah show and getting to see Eclipse like 2 months early! I am still thanking Kristen for including me in that experience! It was amazing! I know you guys are probably nauseated already reading about it, but I'm sorry. That was one the most awesome things that I have ever done! :)
Coming Next Tuesday......Kassie Cullen!!!!!

I love it Marie. This is a really awesome post. I feel like I know your Twi-obsession better now.
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot believe you have read the books 16 now on to your 17th time omg more dedication then I have.
You are a superfan! I loved reading this! You are quite lucky to have been able to embrace so much of the phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteMost of all I love that you dressed as Bella for school and the sign you made! that is awesome!
Ha ha I think you should do a link up where all of your Twilight blogging friends answer these questions and link up!
ReplyDelete@Jen - I can't wait to read your responses!!!!
ReplyDelete@Kassie - Yep, I have the OCD REAL BAD!!! LOL I can't stop! Maybe it is because Twilight is my fave book. So when I finish BD, I'm want to go back to Twilight....but once I read Twilight again....I have to keep going. It's an endless circle! LOL
@TT - Thanks! The anti-Twi's in my house gave me so much shit for the amount of time I put into making that sign! But it has made a great decoration for Twi-parties now too! I have to tell you, when I did that at school, the kids and parents could go to whichever room they wanted to hear the story being read, and my classroom was PACKED! They were overflowing into the hall. It was so cool!
@Nocona - That's a great idea!
