Thanks for the Twi-Memories!

Remember when……

· You first read Twilight and as soon as you were done, went right  back to the beginning and started over again?

· You first saw the movie "Twilight" and loved it and fell head over heels in love with Rob as Edward.

· You created that little Twilight stash of photos on your computer 3 folders deep in a folder unsuspectingly called “Teaching Resources” or “Recipes”?

· You created an additional file, four folders deep called “Robp0rn”?

· You scoured the internet daily for news or pictures of “New Moon” or “Eclipse” being filmed?

· You introduced a virgin to the saga, and saw that gaga look on their face the next day when they told you they could not put it down?

· You had your first Twilight party?

· You read your first fuckhawt Twilight fanfiction?

I have so many wonderful memories, because of Twilight. I have made the most amazing friends. We love Twilight, but it turns out we have a lot more than that in common and have become lifelong friends. I think that is the most important thing that has come from this crazy roller coaster ride we’ve all been on.

So, since we’re taking a trip down memory lane, I thought about how I was introduced to Twilight. Flashback to Thanksgiving, 2008. I saw an old friend of mine that day who had read Twilight (repeatedly) and had just seen the movie when it came out the week before. She just kept telling me I had to read this book. So finally in January, I was at Target and saw the Twilight book on an endcap. I thought, what the hell and I grabbed it. Twilight had me, hook, line and sinker. I fell hard. I immediately ran out and bought New Moon and Eclipse.

Meanwhile, Twilight was still playing at a few bargain theaters. After reading the book, I HAD to see this movie. I called my sister one Saturday in January, 2009 and begged her to go with me. I was seriously willing to go by myself if I had to. That’s how bad I wanted to see it. My sister agreed to go and she was hooked too after seeing the movie. Of course she immediately read the books. It still amazes me how fast we became obsessed. We saw Twilight in January, and had our first Twilight party in March when the DVD came out. Like I said, fast and hard.

The last four years have been fucking awesome!!!! I created this blog, met my bloggy bestie, SassyKassie, threw four Twilight parties, went to two Twilight related Oprah shows, and have attended many kick-ass Twilight events. My only regret, is not being able to ever attend a premiere. It hurt my heart a bit watching the BD2 premiere knowing that it was the last one and I would never have a chance again. I had to live vicariously through the chicks that were able to go.

This post would not be complete it I didn’t mention our love (and lust) for Rob. Rob is the heart and soul of Edward. He has done an amazing job bringing Edward to life.

The thing is, Rob is more than just Edward. He is an amazing, versatile actor….not to mention hot as hell! He is adorkable and sometimes awkward, but this is why we love him. He isn’t pretentious.

He’s the real deal and I am looking forward to seeing all the amazing things in store for him. I think that knowing that we will be seeing Rob again is what makes the end of Twilight a little bit easier. I think most of us have been able to separate Edward from Rob. That’s why I don’t think Rob will be typecast. When I saw him in Remember Me, Water for Elephants, Bel Ami or Cosmopolis – I did not think of Edward. Not once.

I have to admit, I am a little sad that it’s over. Life goes on, I know. I have plenty of RL stuff to keep my busy. However, there is a little part of me that has not accepted the fact that I do not have any more Twilight movies to look forward to. We are lucky to have the books to reread and the movies to watch again and again. And Twilight fanfiction. Let’s not forget that. All the wonderful imaginings of Edward and Bella that are sometimes better than the original – and a million times hotter!!!!

How can you sum up the last four years in one word?

Friendship

We would love to hear your memories of Twilight in the comments! Please share how you came to love Twilight and how you’re feeling, now that it’s over.

Here are some tissue-alert vids that really sum up the last 4 years.  Enjoy!

Not Intended For Sleep?

*tap-tap-tap* Is this thing on?  Hello?  Anyone there?  Hello?

Oh, there you are!    Thanks for stopping by!  I'm surprised to see you.
Why? you ask.  Well, it might have something to do with the fact that I am a complete and utter failure when it comes to blogging this past year.  So why on earth would someone stop by a blog that very rarely updates?  That's why I am surprised to see you.

Anyway.....real life is a bitch.  Seriously.  I cannot even go there.  You wouldn't believe half of it it I told you.
In my heart of hearts, I really want to post more, but realistically that may not happen.  Today, I just happen to be in a good place.

So here we are, on the cusp of the last Twilight movie.  I'm so excited and sad at the same time.
I can't wait to see BD2, but I am so sad to see this come to an end.  I started planning to post tons of BD2 clips, but decided that less is more.

This is my favorite clip I've seen so far from BD2 - and if you haven't seen this yet, listen to Rob's voice on the last line.  "It's not intended for sleep" - Holy Shit!!!!   Your girly bits will get up and do a happy dance.  Mine did!
Enjoy!

How Long Has it Been

A little over two years ago, UAB and I, along with some of our friends had a little party or sorts. There was joking and laughing, dancing and drinking... all in a little town called Faux Forks. I know we're late in celebrating this anniversary but we're bad at relationships. We hate to admit it, but even we forget every now and again. Something as special as an anniversary with Edward, though he may be a simple man made of cardboard, he is a man none the less and deserves to be celebrated. He took us on a magical tour, which included a flying trip through the forest.

Where we arrived at our meadow destination, where he knows how to show a girl a good time!

After spending time getting hot and heavy amongst the flowers, we jumped in the car...

and headed to prom.

Edward was sweet enough to pose for pictures and dance with his favorite girls. There was another spacious meadow that Edward just HAD to show us. He was very tricky and kept us guessing at every turn.

He wanted to show us something very important, that the sun does in fact shine out of his ass ;)

Edward smelled other vampires in the air, and we followed their scent to the boat house, where beloved Faux Forks resident butt-crack Santa sadly lost his life to the non-veggie vamps. Damn those Black Eyed Peas!

All in all we had a fun time spending the day with Edward.

He took us to a magical place where we got to live vicariously through our good friend that have been lucky enough to make the pilgrimage to the real Forks Washington, where they got to spend their days hiking through the Hoh rainforest, checking out the treaty line and visiting Dr. Cullen and Chief Swan. In honor of the girls that have made the trip not once, or twice but three times! We wanted to say, without your inspiration we never would have made our own little trip.

Has this post been long enough yet? I don't think so...

We simply cannot pretend that this post wasn't sitting in the draft box for a week or so now.... and so as not to be an epic fail.... Today is TJA's THIRD anniversary! Three years ago UAB started this blog as an outlet for her Twisession, you can go back and relive the first official post HERE. I was lucky enough to join her on this journey that brought our obsession with Rob to the nth degree. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful community of women to share this journey. Without blogging, none of us would be here. Thank you all for being there, through the ups and downs. Through the times of lengthy absences, the good and the bad.

Here is to another three years. Even though in three years time, the final installment of Twilight will have come and gone from theaters, you will never leave. Right!?! You won't leave us?

Maybe we won't blog so much, maybe we won't talk about Twilight so much *yeah... right LOL*, we can still talk about the good old days. The days when you HAD to check every blog, every second of every day to keep up on all things Twilight.

You, our friends, are the greatest thing to come from this whole crazy world. And Rob, can't forget Rob.

We love you all. Thanks for sticking with us!

In Memory of Gisela (Mad4Hugh)

It is a sad time for our Twilight community right now.  We lost one of our own.  Read the full story here. We did not know her well.  She was, however, a follower here at TJA as well as our diet blog - Inner Skinny Girl Trying to Get Out (formerly known as Fat Ass Bitches Getting Skinny) and so we feel some connection.  And since she gave us the honor of becoming one of our early followers, we would like take a moment to honor her memory.

Thank you Gisela for being a follower on our little blog(s). We hope we made you smile or laugh, that you stopped by knowing we were here as women just like yourself who are just crazy for Twilight and looking for a place to express it. We truly wish we could have gotten to know you better because we know you were a wonderful person from all of the things your closest Twi-friends have said about you. You will truly be missed by everyone in the fandom.

We get to know the people in this community in the littlest ways, we all get to know something about each other, even if it is just our mutual love for Twilight. We don't have to talk all the time, or even at all to know this about one another. We belong to the same amazing group of women and knowing we had that connection is enough to feel the loss of one of our own. In honor of Gisela we are asking our readers to come and take the time to comment. Do you have a story about Gisela you would like to share? We want to get to know you all, not just as a follower or Twilight fan but as our friends. It is sad when someone is taken so soon, and with Gisela it is no different, our community shares in this loss. And we truly hope that Gisela's family can find some peace in all of the love and support they are receiving during this difficult time.

Love,
UABMarie & SassyKassie

Here are some messages from our nearest and dearest Twi-ladies......

While I did not personally know Gisella, TwiG to many, she was/is still one of us. A member of this Twilight Community who was loved and adored by many.  She will always be a Twi-Sister to all of us in this crazy fandom. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.  Please be at peace, Gisella and know that you were a beloved part of our world, even to those who never met you.  ~ NaughtyHisbella

To those who knew and loved Gisela I offer you my deepest sympathies on your loss.
I did not know Gisela personally, but I know first hand what her love and interest with this
fandom meant and will continue to mean. We share ourselves in good times and as a deeply caring community we also share in bad times. I may not have know Gisela, but I know she was someone's daughter, perhaps sister, wife, mother and surely friend to many. Her presence will be missed by many.
Respectfully,

BellaTesoro

I didn't know Gisela personally but whenever a member of a family like ours is lost it is definitely a sad day.  She will be missed for sure and will forever remain a member of this family in our hearts.

Far

He is all for you this year.

Don't choose just one.

You can have them all.
