Twilight.....Take Me Away.........

Oh Rob, I know how you feel! GAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! This day is shaping up to be a winner. The garage door broke a few weeks ago, just in time for subzero weather, which killed my battery, which made me have to get my car towed, at the same time Glenn started a new job (finally) and now today....the fridge is on the fritz. Had to put all of the food in the empty garage (since cars can't get in there anyway- it is in the driveway completely encased in an inch and a half of solid ice!) and called for the refrigerator repairman to come out on Christmas eve. Meanwhile, genius son (the obnoxious 13 year old) decides it would be better to put the frozen Gino's East pizzas (tonight's dinner btw) out in the backyard. Went out there and saw that the dog had eaten an entire sausage pizza!!!!! Gee, I can't imagine why I would want to escape into a book like Twilight!!!!!

Happy Birthday Stephenie Meyer!!!!

About three things I am absolutely positive.

First, Stephenie is an amazing author.

Second, there is a part of me - and I know how dominant that part is - that thirsts for more Edward and Bella.

And third, I am unconditionally, and irrevocably in love with Twilight.

Happy Birthday to one of the most incredible women in the world!

Are You Looking Forward to the Runaways?

Confession time. First, when I saw that Kristen was making this movie, my thought was.....who the hell wants to see a movie about the Runaways. Don't get me wrong, I dig Joan Jett.....I even saw her open for Cheap Trick (OMG....I am dating myself!) at Chicagofest.....a REALLY long, long time ago. Second, I could not get past the fact that Kristen cut her beautiful Bella hair. How could she do that? Couldn't they give her a Joan Jett wig, so we wouldn't have to suffer with the Bella wig in Eclipse????? And third......well, that's it.....there is no third.

Now that I've seen this trailer, I am actually kinda jazzed to see this movie. Kristen looks really cool. Of course, I'm still wondering, who the hell wants to see a movie about the Runaways, but I ♥ Kristen and think she is going to do a great job with the part. So for this reason, I am looking forward to it. What to you guys think?

Old Interview with 13 year old KStew

Sorry Kristen, but I am overcome with Rob's hotness, and I don't mean to neglect you. I'm sure you understand. I really do ♥ you....I swear.
Since this is a Twilight blog..... I can't forget Rob's fabulous co-star. I came across this vid on YouTube of Ryan Seacrest interviewing KStew for "Catch That Kid".....she is so cute! It's pretty cool that her Dad is the show's stage manager.....he looks like a total hippie. That might explain a few things about Kristen. See what you think of our future Bella :)

Taylor on SNL

Taylor did a great job on SNL!!!! He was so cute and funny. I loved the monologue....his Kung Fu is strong! LOL Whoa, he is good at that martial arts thing. I was extremely impressed.

I have to say my favorite skit was the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob skit. Here's why I think it was the highlight of the show. (AKA - the shit I found funny)

1) Taylor makes a really cute girl.
2) It was killing me that when the rest of the class is asked if they would be partners with one of them, the class gave a resounding no. I guess I could relate to them treating them like lepers, since I get that a lot from my own family!
3) " Oh, duh...what other kind of truces are there?"
4) "Not think.....KNOW" LMAO!!!!!
5) Taylor making out with the Edward notebook!!!!!! More LMAO!!!! "Notebooks are for notes, not for kissing"
6) "If those abs are real, then the dude who played Jacob deserves an Oscar"
7) "Bella is a whiney do nothing that does not deserve either one of them"
8) I love the planaria on the whiteboard in the background!

New Moon - The Movie - [with scenes from the cinema version]

This video is amazing! It's the whole movie compressed into 4 minutes!!!!! I love it, but I'm sure it will get removed. Enjoy it while you can!!!!

"Friends" by Band of Skulls

I'm just on a New Moon Soundtrack kick today. I found this Band of Skulls video on YouTube.....just ignore the Spanish subtitles...unless of course you speak Spanish. LOL The sound quality is not so good.

"Monsters" by Hurricane Bells

How much do you love this song???? ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Picture Edward, walking in slo-mo across the parking lot....yummy!!!!

"The Violet Hour" by Sea Wolf on the Bonnie Hunt Show

I love, love , LOVE this song!!!!!!

Breaking Dawn Spoof....LMAO!!!!!

Oh my God! This is so friggin hilarious!!!!!!!! I'm still crying from laughing so hard!

Enjoy!

My 5 Year Old Vampire

We went to see New Moon again last night. I don't know why, but every time we go to see it, it becomes a photo op. This was the best. My 5 year old, Matthew, has been wanting to see the movie....he loves Twilight (unlike my 13 year old who could be the poster child for he Twilight Haters club!). So, Matt insisted on having Edwards hair, which I gladly obliged....how cute. And, top it off with vampire teeth, a menacing look and....voila - instant vampire.......
My niece Layla is the werewolf to Matthew's vampire.

Say "Edward.................."

You can actually see the vampire teeth a little better in this one. I'm so proud!

Can't Wait For Eclipse

I'm going to see New Moon.....again.....today. New Moon is amazing. I love it....what's not to love. However, New Moon is my least favorite book in the Twilight series. It might have something to do with, I don't know.....the fact that Edward is missing in most of the book! UGH! I am being completely honest when I say I have read the whole series about 15 times, but I have to come clean. A few of those times when I got to New Moon, I skipped the HUGE chunk where Edward is gone.

Ghosty Edward is just not the same

So I started thinking, if my least favorite book was such an awesome movie, then what can I expect in June, when my 2nd favorite book comes out as a movie in the hands of a good director? I love to listen to the books on my MP3 player in the car going to and from work and yesterday I was listening to Eclipse. Chapter 20 to be exact.....Compromise. My favorite chapter in Eclipse. Bella trying to steal Edward's virtue and in her desperation to do so, agreeing to marry him. My favorite line...."Look what's become of you, trying to seduce a vampire". Edward getting down on one knee. AHHHHHHHHH! Okay, so I listened to that chapter twice yesterday. LOL So now I'm picturing Rob and Kristen in this scene and thinking that it is going to be amazing. I am a proponent of Robsten, okay. Whether or not they are together remains to be seen, but if they are not, then they should be.......
they are friggin adorable together.
Anyway, I going off on a tangent...sorry. My point is, that all this excitement about New Moon, what I really can't wait for is......ECLIPSE!!!!! (Don't even get me started on Breaking Dawn) Eclipse is going to be EPIC.....I am already counting down the days!!!!!!

Is this the meadow scene at the end of Eclipse????

New Moon Round 2

I thought New Moon was even better the second time around. We went to the Hollywood Palms yesterday, and we actually bought our tickets for that theater because Ashley Greene was there. Unfortunately, the line was insane and neither of us could afford the charge for autographs/pictures. Sorry Ashley. We love you, but times are tough right now. I tried to take a couple of pictures of Ashley from afar, but they just came out a big blur. The best part was that my awesome niece bought her mom a beautiful Edward shirt as a birthday present. Needless to say, Barb ran right into the bathroom to change into it.

Does anyone else tear up during the song "Possiblity"? I don't know.....maybe it was because I had my 28th year elementary school reunion the night before and drank my ass off and slept for maybe 4 hours....or, I don't know. I was probably over emotional, but I still think Kristen just does such a great job of being Bella in the depths of despair (borrowed that from Anne of Green Gables....which I have been trying to read again after all these years) .

Anyway....here are a few pics of us waiting in line to get into the theater.

Me and my rockin' daughter, Lauren.

Barb and her rockin' daughter #2, Robyn.

Barb's rockin' daughter #1, Layla. You made your mom's day with that Edward shirt!!!!
Layla's boyfriend Randy. Sorry Randy, I just outed you!!!!!! LOL
This is my best picture of Ashley Greene....LOL! Enjoy!

So???? What did you think?

I know many of you went to see New Moon at Midnight last night. I'm so jealous. I know that sounds crazy since I already saw it last week for the Oprah show. However, if I had not gotten lucky enough to see that early screening, I would be going completely nuts right now, because I still would not be seeing it until Sunday. So, what did you think??? Let me know....leave a comment. How did you like the end? Were you like, WTF????? Barb and I were. We thought the film broke or something. LOL
I just needed a cute picture.....I love this one. Kristen is the luckiest girl on earth!!!!!

Rob....the perve????? LMAO!!!!!

Robert Pattinson, Ellen DeGeneresMichael Rozman/Warner Bros.

This is too friggin' funny. While Robert Pattinson taped a segment for the The Ellen DeGeneres Show(airing Friday), he asked a fan to strip off her clothes. And she did!

"I was doing a preinterview for this [show], and I immediately regretted saying that," the awkwardly adorable R.Pattz says. "I sound like I'm actually just abusing my position.

"It was after a period of signing 500 signatures, and one of [the fans] just came up. You kind of get 10 seconds with each person and you never really say anything, and I kind of got bored of saying, 'Hey, how are you doing?' And [the fan] said in her 10 seconds, 'What can I do to get your attention?' I was like, 'Um, just take your clothes off.' And she stood there and frantically started taking her clothes off and got dragged out of the room by security. I never felt more terrible."

This makes us love Rob 10 times more! Perverted, huh? We would start messing with fans, too, after a while. Actually, we're shocked R.Pattz hasn't done it more. He has so much power over these helpless ones! Might as well make it entertaining.

Help! I need ideas!

My school where I teach is having a Family Reading Night this Thursday. We are all choosing a book to read (or in my case, an excerpt) and dressing up as a character in the book. Of course, I don't need to tell you that I am attempting to dress as Bella - well, Bella after gaining 100 pounds! LOL Anyway, I am going to read an excerpt from Twilight. Here's where I need your help. I was planning on reading Chapter 3 - Phenomenon. Then last night, I was skimming through other chapters and now I don't know. If you were going pick one part of Twilight to read that would be representative of the whole book, what part would you pick???? Remember, this is a K-5 school, so nothing too racy. I already have a small following of 5th grade girls (my students from last year) that have already read the whole series, but I know younger students will come. Please let me know what you think in the comments section! Thanks!!!!

My "O" Show Ticket Winning Essay

More than a few people have asked to read my "essay" that I wrote to score entry into the O show this past Friday. So here it is.....

OME!!!! (that's Oh My Edward in Twilight lingo) Since the first moment I picked up Twilight, I have been totally obsessed with the Twilight Saga. I have read all four books 15+ times since that first time, and and have no desire to stop rereading them . Each time I finish the last page of Breaking Dawn, I just want to read more. My friends and family think I'm crazy and my students (I'm a teacher) crack up when I show up to school with my Edward Cullen lunchbox. Okay, so Twilight has basically taken over my life. I've recently created a Twilight website and blog called Twilight Junkies Anonymous just to have a place to express my obsession. When Twilight was released on DVD, I threw a party with Twilight themed food, drinks and decorations. One thing I love about Twilight is that Bella is such a realistic, normal girl. She has her doubts about herself, but then she turns out (SPOILER ALERT) to be the most amazing vampire. Edward, is.....well....the most perfect man. I doesn't matter that he is a vampire. He is just beautiful and he's a gentleman. I love that Stephenie has just created this incredible world that is half reality and half fantasy, and she has found a way to blend the two seamlessly. You almost think that the fantasy part could exist. If I could ask Stephanie Meyer anything, I would ask her how she sees Edward and Bella years down the road, after Breaking Dawn. I would also like to ask her if there was any chance that she would publish Midnight Sun because the draft she has on her website is AMAZING! What inspires me about Stephenie's story is that she is mom like me and was able literally make her dream a reality. I would thank Stephenie for helping to escape reality for a few hours at a time, because when your plate is full, as mine is, you sometimes need somewhere to get away. My escape has been Forks, Washington this past year and I have loved every minute of it!
I did have to edit out one sentence so that I would stay within the 2000 character limit and that sentence was about when we had the Twilight party and Barb and I tried to put feathers on the table (nudge, nudge, wink, wink - Breaking Dawn) but had to take them off because they kept getting in the food. ;)
So, that's what I wrote. Maybe I went overboard. The chick across from us in the waiting room at the show said she wrote like 3 sentences and they called her to go sit in the good seats. So, I don't know what the secret is. I was kind of embarrassed to post this, but now that I'm reading it again, I feel kinda good about it. Probably because I know that the awesome Twi-peeps that will be reading it will get it and not think something is wrong with me! :)

4 Second Video of Stephenie Meyer at Book Signing

I was snapping pictures and then I realized.....DUH....I can take video on my camera. By then, it was a little late, and this is all I got. This is the 2nd half of Stephenie's response to Barb's question about Midnight Sun.

Kristen caught me on screen!!!!!

How cool! Thanks Kristen :)

Follow Twilight Junkies Anonymous

Hi everyone.....make sure you click on the link to the right to follow my blog. The more the merrier!!!!

The "O" Show - Stephenie Meyer

Okay, so I read the release that I signed and it said you could not blog about the show, so I will just call it "the show", okay. You all know what show I'm talking about. Of course no electronics of any kind, but I have few Pics from the signing.

First of all, apparently it doesn't matter what time you get down there. We got there at about 6 a.m. and were assigned #40 & 41. We're thinking, cool - good seats. Nope. After sitting in the waiting room for 1.5 hours, it seemed liked they were going to start calling by numbers. They start calling names instead. We kept waiting, thinking they would call me. Nope. Finally we got called in the cattle call. So we got crappy seats. So we got there in the dark for nothing. Oh, and this was hilarious. Barb told me to grab the cards from the Twilight game to occupy ourselves while we waited in line. They confiscated them until after the show. I thought that was funny. Barb is like "What, are we going to use them as ninja stars?". LOL
Stephanie was beautiful and gracious. During commercial break, she mentioned how cool it was to watch the movie last night with all of us. Yay!!!! She is just so awesome! There was no big secret. She said she had originally written the ending to New Moon differently. That was it. And nobody asked her about Midnight Sun......until.....(It's coming)

After the show, we were given the boxed set of the Twilight series (an $83 value!) and then sent across the street to the "O" store to get one book signed by Stephenie. We could only pick one book, so I thought "Twilight" would be the best....you know, it's the original. While we waited, Barb ran back to the car to get phones and cameras - so we took a few pics to occupy our time.
Here they are:
Me with Harpo behind me

Barb with Harpo behind her

So when we finally got to Stephenie, Barb (who is much braver than I am) straight out asked her if there was any chance she would be finishing Midnight Sun. She didn't say no, she just said she was really busy and needed to take a break from Vampires.
Anyway, here are the pics.....she is so gorgeous!

Stephenie answering Barb's question about Midnight Sun, while signing my book.

Tada......here it is..................................

New Moon Last Night

UGH....we got home so late yesterday and had to get up at 4:15 am to get ready for "the show" today, that we couldn't really post anything on here. So here goes.....

Our "before" picture.

New Moon was incredible! I don't want to give away too much, but I wanted to say something about the movie. If you are worried about "spoilers" then stop now, because I can't guarantee I won't spill too much. Luckily you have all read the book, so nothing is a complete surprise.

The BEST part of watching New Moon last night was that Stephenie Meyer came to watch it with us. When they introduced her, she said this was the first time she was seeing the complete movie. She sat 5 rows in front of us. How cool!!!!!! We were p.o'd cause we almost sat in that row where Stephenie sat, but then we spotted 2 seats by themselves at the very top and grabbed those.

Anyway, New Moon the movie was very close to the book. You know how you sooooo miss Edward while you are reading New Moon and cannot wait for him to come back? Well, you totally miss him in the movie too. The same feeling comes across on film. I really thought I would cry during the break up scene, but I guess after seeing it so many times on the promos, I've become desensitized. I'll tell you when I almost cried.....depressed Bella. Kristen did such a fantastic job. It was so sad. She is amazing. Chris Weitz did a really great job of getting Bella's thoughts a feelings across that you would normally only get by reading the book. I don't want to say how, but you will love how he does it.

Rob of course looked gorgeous....sigh. You've seen the part in the Volvo commercial where he is walking toward Bella in the school parking lot? The whole audience did a collective "sigh". He looked so HOT! Again, Rob was beautiful, but just not enough of him. That's just the way the book goes. Taylor was smoking.....literally. Whenever he is standing in the rain, steam is rising off of his 108 degree body. It was so cool. And yes, everyone lost it when he took his shirt off. He is easy on the eyes :)

There is so much more that I want to say, but I don't want to give it all away. I will say that I think Chris Weitz did a great job with New Moon. I thought Catherine Hardwicke changed too many things in Twilight, but Chris did not. There were a few things, of course, that had to be left out to fit a book into a 2 hour movie, but it was stuff you really don't miss at all. He got all of the most important stuff. I can't wait to go see it again. I will not tell you how the movie ends.....I mean I think you have idea, but you will be surprised....that's all I will say.

Here are some videos of me and Barb driving home last night. These videos are rated PG-13 for language (I just thought I'd give you a heads up! LOL)

Barb's video review of New Moon:

Yes....before you say anything, we are idiots!!!!! LOL

New Moon Thursday

We tried to upload our video movie review, but it was taking forever. We will upload it later. Gotta go. Oprah needs us down there by 7, and we know there is going to be a line.

Look for me on Oprah this Friday!

Here is the shirt I found today for Oprah on Friday.....so look for me in blue. Barb will be wearing a pink shirt. It's pretty cute, very Bella-like and it only cost $6.80!!!!! Can't beat that with a stick! I'd wear my New Moon shirt, but they said stick with brighter colors. So I'm breaking out the New Moon shirt tomorrow to go see the movie. :)

Twilight Parties past.....

So I am so hyper about this whole Oprah thing, I just need something to do the keep busy. Here are some pics that I have not uploaded yet. These pics are from my Twilight DVD party in March and my daughter's 9th birthday this past July. Of course it was a Twilight theme....that's my girl!
Twilight DVD Party.....March '09
I wished I would have thought to take pics of the food and decorations. You can see the Alice twinkle lights in the background.
We definitely need an Edward cutout for next time!
Barb enjoying a blood red Strawberry Margarita
We also had Vampire Venom (aka: red jello shots)

Lauren's 9th Birthday...................

This cake #1 for the sleepover. I made one layer chocolate and one layer red velvet. Trying to get the Twilight colors.

This is cake #2 for the family party the next day.

You cannot have a Twilight Party without Twizzlers!!!!! I found a new use for my Edward thermos.
I created "Pin the Apple on the Book" by painting a Twilight book cover and cutting out apples for the girls to attach to it.
My sister and niece did the balloons and streamers.....very impressive! And the Alice twinkle lights.
I don't even know where I came up with this idea.....but I made 3 of them. Just printed off pics and cut them from magazines. Then decorated with markers and ran a ribbon through them.

Lauren & Cousin Robyn with my Edward lunchbox.

Okay, so I went to the party store and found Edward and Isabella confetti. I took all of the Isabella ones and cut off the ISA to create Bella confetti. P.S. I saved these for the New Moon DVD party....LOL.
