More New Moon Party Details....

So Sunday I did kind of a speed post, just to get the pics up from the party.  I just did not have the energy to handle the details at that time.  So here goes.....

My wonderful sister Barb and I had our New Moon party this past Saturday night with 20 Twihards in attendance.  We started off the evening with a showing of Twilight first.  It was great to watch Twilight with so many other chicks who get it, and because we've all seen it so many times, we let the comments fly.  And boy did we have comments!  I really wished we'd had time to watch it with the commentary, which is   one of my favorite features of the Twilight DVD!

Meanwhile, the food kept coming!  Everyone brought the cutest Twilight themed dishes.
  Victoria made this beautiful cake.
Marissa made the apple cookies and the wolf chow....
Just a shot of one of the spreads.  The other table had the mushroom ravioli that Bella orders when Edward takes her to dinner. (no pic of it)

There was a LOT more food...these are just some of the highlights, and I don't know if we got pics of everything.  To see the rest of the pics, go to my previous post with the slideshow.
The decorations......

I made this sign for Family Reading Night at my school where I read an excerpt of "Twilight".   I knew it would come in handy again.  I cut all the pieces out and glued them on.
I painted this for Lauren's birthday party over the summer.....it was pin the apple on the book.  It was just a decoration this time.....I forgot to cut out apples.  :(

A few of the banners I made.....this one using the
postcards from Burger King

I raided Lauren's room for posters!  Believe me, if I could get away with it, they would be in my room!
I love these little filmstrip picture frames that I got from Michael's for like $2.  They came out really cute.

The Goodie Bags!!!!
Barb, Layla and I spent the last few weeks making the dream catchers.  The dream catchers have a heart charm on them with Edward and Jacob's pictures in them.  I also made the bookmarks and candy bar wrappers.

The Slam Book
We used to make these in High School, and I don't know what made me think of it, but it was a hit. Got everyone to answer a bunch a question about The Twilight Saga.  Remember, you write your name on the first page, then answer the questions on each page.  Anyway, I'll have to scan the pages one of these days and post it.  Here's the cover anyway.

The Guest of Honor!

My friend Kristen is lucky enough to own a FSE, and was kind enough to bring him along for the party, despite all the pervy things everyone was doing to him. LOL  Edward was the life of the party!

The Big Giveaway....
At the end of the evening we had a little giveaway.....some calendars and copies of the Eclipse script.  Here are the winners......

In the end, we managed to get (almost) everyone into one picture......
And we managed to watch New Moon.....

I actually got a chance to watch New Moon...
A very happy hostess......

New Eclipse Poster!

What do you think????  I love it!  I've already made new desktop wallpaper out of it :)

WTF???? No Rob Commentary on the New Moon DVD?????

Like many of you, I am sitting here waiting, very impatiently for my New Moon DVD to arrive.  I have to say that after reading some interviews with Chris Weitz saying that there is no commentary with Rob, Kristen or Taylor, I am VERY disappointed!  Okay, I'm pissed.  That was one of the main things I was looking forward to on the New Moon DVD.  I've seen New Moon a jillion times.....I want to watch it with Rob's cute little comments.  Watching the Twilight DVD is a completely different, and very enjoyable experience with the commentary turned on.  My daughter and I like to watch Twilight back to back - once with the commentary on and once with it off.  I honestly can't stand Catherine Hardwicke's voice, but it is so worth it just to hear Rob say "bouffant",  "that's the day I had pecs" and my all time favorite, "he's a superhuman moron".   I think in one interview Chris said that Rob & Kristen blew him off.  Seriously????  Chris, you should have kidnapped their asses and dragged them into the studio to get it done.

twilight commentary

EW has a listing here of the Best of Rob's comments on the Twilight DVD.

Is anyone else out there extremely disappointed that there will be no Rob, Kristen or Taylor commentary on the New Moon DVD?????  Sound off about it in the comments!

My Thoughts on Remember Me

I honestly have not been able to stop thinking about "Remember Me" since seeing it on Saturday.  I knew I wanted to write about it here on the blog, but I just wasn't ready.  I felt bad, because I felt like I should come running home from the theater and just start writing.  I couldn't.  I just needed time to process the whole thing.  Then, as I said in my post  this morning, my thoughts began to come together and become cohesive in the shower.  Well darn it, of course I had to go to work.  Ugh!  I literally had a spiral notebook with me all day, and if something popped in my head, I quickly jotted it down.  Even in the car coming home....I was jotting and driving.  Probably not the best idea.  So here I am.

Apparently opinions are wide and varied when it comes to Remember Me.  Okay, so this is  just my opinion.  First things first.  I loved "Remember Me".  I think Rob acted his ass off in this movie.  Remember Me really showed what he is capable of in a way that Twilight and New Moon do not.  I'm just going to say it.....out loud.  Say it!
Okay.....I think I like Rob better in Remember Me than in Twilight or New Moon.  There. It's out there.  I said it.  That doesn't mean I don't absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him in Twilight and New Moon (because I DO!) but I love him even MORE in Remember Me.  Maybe Tyler is more relatable character.  Yes I know that Edward is perfect, but you never here Edward call someone a pussy.  Right??? That scene totally cracked me up.
I thought Tyler and Ally made a cute couple, and they had great chemistry.  However,  I think I liked the scenes with Tyler and Caroline the best.  He was the most adorable big brother.  Heartmelting!!!!

The rest of this post is full of SPOILERS so stop now if haven't seen the movie yet!

Last chance........

I knew that the movie ended with 9/11 going into it, but I did not know that one of the characters died.  So the moment the camera panned away from Tyler standing in the window, allowing you to see that it was the World Trade Center, my heart just dropped into my stomach.  It touched a nerve - as it was supposed to.  When I walked out of the theater, I thought that last 10 minutes really completely changed the tone of the movie.  After having time to process the whole movie, I see it now as putting the last pieces of the puzzle in place.  The name of the movie is "Remember Me" and the tag line is "Live in the Moments".  Here is the perfect example of why it is important to live that way.  Why it was important that Tyler told Ally he loved her that morning.  You never, ever, know what is going to happen.  I don't think the end of the movie was a cheap shot at all.  9/11 happened. It is devastating, and sad, but true.  I thought is was done as tastefully as possible.  No planes going into the towers. The inference was there, and that was enough.  Movies,  as with all forms of art, are supposed to evoke an emotional response from us.  Remember Me did that.  It brings up feelings that we have tried to deal with these last 9 years, because we have tried go on with our lives, and not live in fear.  All in all, I think Remember Me is a wonderful movie with a very powerful message that you should live each day as if it were your last.

Still Working On My Review of Remember Me

Sorry, but I am still working on my review of Remember Me.  I've been processing it all weekend since I saw the movie.  Then all the sudden, this morning in the shower (where I do my best thinking apparently) my thoughts about the movie started coming together.  So I grabbed a piece of paper and started scribbling them down.  I'll get it together soon, I promise.  I will say that I absolutely loved it.

Rob says, "C'mon....it's not friggin rocket science!"
