This week we are featuring the amazing Mama Cougar!
If you have not checked out her blog, then what are you waiting for????
Git on over there! LOL
ANDDDDDD......Guess what! Go ahead, guess!
It's Mama Cougar's Birthday today!!!!!
So, since it's her birthday and she's our Tuesday Twilight Junkie
let's celebrate with some cake
Okay....here is how MC responded to our questions.......
What got you into Twilight?
My 20 year-old daughter received Twilight as a Christmas gift in December 2008. She read it voraciously and begged me to. I'm a mom & wife with a full time job and had tabled reading (which I love) because I just didn't have the discretionary time, but Sarah was persistent. So, I cracked the book on 12/16/2008 and my life changed. We now refer to things as BT - "before Twilight" and AT - "after Twilight".
Do your family and friends know how deep your twi-obsession goes (be specific about what your obsession is, how do you hide it, or how do you advertise it)
I hide nothing. I'm a live out loud kinda gal, so my family & friends are all very aware of my Twilight obsession and I'm lucky enough that my husband David, also loves the saga and has read all the books. We've had so much fun with all of this! I'm also out of the closet at work, but I try to be as professional as possible so I keep a lid on the depth of my Twilove. I only have Twilight wallpaper & screensavers on my office PC, but no posters or posed Edward & Bella Barbies on my desk. At home however, I have an entire room devoted to the Saga and I'm working to redo my Master Bedroom to look similar to Bella's bedroom. I have a blog (http://www.blogger.com/ mamacougar) and a YouTube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/ mshubbell) all devoted to my obsession. I'm wickedly addicted to Twitter and follow all the Twi-stars. When a Twilight movie is playing in theaters, I go to see it, many, many times. I saw Twilight and New Moon in theaters at least ten times, and I've seen Eclipse five times, including once in IMAX with your crazy TwiJunkie crew and my bloggy bestie, Lisa, a.k.a. 17ForeverLisa. It was....breathtaking. Life-altering. GAH.
Are you Team Edward, Team Jacob, Team (fill in the blank)? Why, is it because of the character or the person that plays them in the movie?
I'm Team Edward all the way baby! Being 44, Jake is far too immature for my taste...give me a fuckin' hot 109 year old ANY DAY. Edward is so deep and soulful, and to me represents the purest of love. It doesn't hurt that Rob is practically the poster boy for ideal male genetics either. The kid is just GORGEOUS. I'm also a shameless Robsten promoter, because he and Kris just look achingly beautiful together. They have an undeniable chemistry that is so palpable I can feel it in my gut when they're on screen together.
Which Twilight book is your favorite and why?
I initially HATED New Moon, and read it like a crazy women because I couldn't stand the section where Edward was gone. But, in hindsight, it's my favorite because it's (as much as I hate to admit this) the truest expression of Edward's nature & how he would behave, given his situation. Plus, it brings to the surface Edward's intrinsic flaw...he underestimates Bella's feelings and finally realizes it.
If you read fanfic and you're willing to admit it, which is your favorite story?
I am a total fanfic WHORE. I have read tons, but I'm very discerning. If I get a few paragraphs in and there's too many spelling/grammar mistakes, I bail out. Some of it, however, is so beautifully written and just melt when I read it. Some of my favorites include "The Honeymoon" by Maggie Chambers, "My Yes, My No" by LolaShoes, "Stranger than Fiction" by MasenVixen, "Master of the Universe" by SQIcedragon, "The Office" by tby789, and "Osa Bella" by Myg. There's SO much more....my freaking FF.net & Twilighted accounts are mind boggling some days!
Which person would you most likely still be into if they were not involved in Twilight; explain why.
Peter Facinelli & Billy Burke tie for this prize. Billy just KILLS me. He's dry and so damn funny in real life. He speaks his mind, and truly doesn't give a flying fuck about the superfluous shit that comes along with Hollywood "fame". Peter is just FUN with a capital F. I love him as Dr. Coop in the Showtime series Nurse Jackie, and he regularly tweets some seriously funny shit about his life with Jennie Garth and their three girls. I once got a direct tweet from Peter and I thought I was going to DIE.
If you ever met your favorite Twilight star how would you react? What would you do or say.
Let's pretend for a moment that Robert Pattinson's tire went flat on my street and he showed up on my doorstep while waiting for the AAA Club. It would take at least an hour for them to get to our house, because we live in the buttfuck boonies. In that hour, I would invite the kid in and offer him a Stella or a Heiniken which I always keep cooling in my fridge for just such an occasion. I'd grill him a cheeseburger and then politely ask him to play the dormant piano in my living room that just BEGS for his delicious fingers. I'd NEVER, under any circumstances, show him the dedictaed Twilight room upstairs, because that would freak the poor boy out. Then, I'd run up to our local ice cream place and get him some Amaretto flavored frozen yogurt for the road. I'd ask for a quick hug, but no pictures or autographs...because this experience is something I'd want to keep just for myself. After his departure, I'd break down and require a straightjacket and immediate inpatient psychiatric care.
If you were to replace any person in Twilight who would you replace them with and why.
Wow. Hard question. I'd replace Elizabeth Reaser with ME. LMAO. I'm too young for Bella, but I could totally pull off Edward's mom, and hell, I'd get to do Carlisle, so it's all good.
How many times have you read the Twilight Saga? If you've read it multiple times, what makes you keep rereading? If you've only read it once, why haven't you reread it?????
I have read the series four times and my addiction fuels my need to consume those words repeatedly. I do read other things though. I read The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I love anything written by Jodi Picoult or Aimee Bender and I've also read the Harry Potter Series at least twice. Twilight reawakened my love for reading.
What is your most precious item in your Twilight collection and why? (share pics if possible)
Oh God....this question will kill me because it's like asking me to chose a favorite child. It's a tie between my infamous Rainier Beer cans and the custom painted yellow Porshe 911 model that my husband made for me.
What is the craziest Twilight related thing you've done? (include pics if possible)
I've yet to do it, but on 8/8/10, my husband, daughter and I are going on a Twilight Fans Alaskan Cruise. (www.twilightfanscruise.com) Lots of money, but it looks AMAZING and I can't wait to do it! Other than that, I've planned some very crazy parties for the Twilight & New Moon DvD release parties.
What is your favorite song from the Twilight Saga and why?
Sia - "My Love" from the Eclipse Sountrack. It's the perfect song for the perfect moment.....LEG HITCH BABY!!! Nothing's better than Edward's torment in that scene. His expression as he goes to war with his "need' versus the desire to keep the love of his life safe is just....delicious, and that song is lovely in the background. I also LOVE "Let Me Sign" by Robert Pattinson which plays during the ballet studio scene in Twilight. Rob sounds so powerful and pained when he sings that song, it tugs at my heart.
Tell us your favorite quote from each book?
"I decided as long as I was going to hell, I might as well do it thoroughly." - Edward (Twilight)
"One thing I truly knew—knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the center of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest—was how love gave someone the power to break you." - Bella (New Moon)
"You compare one little tree to the entire forest." - Edward (Eclipse)
"Sex was the key all along? Why didn’t I think of that? I could have saved myself a lot of arguments." - Edward (Breaking Dawn)
"Why won't you leave me alone?" - Bella
Believe me - I wanted to say - I've tried. Oh and also, I'm wretchedly in love with you. - Edward (Midnight Sun)
Has Twilight taken over your life? Explain.
Taken Over? No. I'm still a wife, a mother, a marketing manager. I will say that Twilight has touched every one of those roles in some way. Edward's love for Bella has reminded me what it means to love someone MORE than you love yourself. The Cullen's family bond in spite of their differences, reminds me that nothing in day-to-day life is more inportant than your family. Most importantly though, becoming a Twilight fan has afforded me the opportunity to meet SO MANY incredibly cool people I otherwise wouldn't have met, like you girls! I just love the comraderie amongst Twilight fans...when I meet new Twifans, it's like you know in your heart that you've met "your people", you know?
Tell us anything else Twilighty about yourself that you would like to share.
Okay - random fire time!
* I'm secretly in love with "Seth" the stunt driver that did the 180 degree Volvo turn in the alley in Twilight. Hottest car-stunt EVER.
* I own every available commercially distributed movie that Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson have a part in. Twilight aside, My favorite Kristen Stewart movie is The Cake Eaters and my favorite Robert Pattinson film is Little Ashes.
* I have two dogs...a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel named Riley (coincidental) and a 1-year old Boxer named Bella, on purpose, naturally.
* I don't own a single "Twilight" t-shirt, other than those I've made myself for our theme parties. I do however, have two Twilight lunchboxes, a jewelry box, and Edward blanket, a collection of Cullen cars, and a collection of Rob/Twilight porn (magazines) that's pretty staggering.
