If you've been following Twilight Junkies Anonymous for a while now,
you know that I have always been a huge
♪♫Beatles Fan♪♫.
I may have mentioned this in a couple of past posts.
Today would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday. It breaks my heart when I think of all the amazing music that this world missed out on when that insane lunatic decided to take his life on December 8, 1980.
HOT!!!!! |
I love how Google is honoring John's birthday!
How can I connect John Lennon's birthday to Twilight? Well, I'm getting to that.
First, in honor of John's birthday, I decided to post some pics that are dorky and embarassing but depict my obsession with John. You may or may not have heard of The Fest For Beatles Fans (formerly called Beatlefest) but it is an annual event in several cities, including Chicago. Starting in 1982, when I was 14, I went every year until 2002. These are some pics of me at Beatlefest over the years.

1985 This is actually my Beatle bedroom. (Um, *cough* notice the Dr. Who scarf that I made.) |
1986 |
Not sure what year.....hey was drinking! LOL |
Partying it up Beatlefest style! |
John and Paul getting liquored up too! LOL |
This was 2002 , I think. |
So there you have it. Some really awful pictures of me during my awkward adolescence. Sometimes I think I am still going through my awkward adolescence! LOL
I hope that gave you guys a good laugh anyway.
So how does this relate to Rob or Twilight?
I made this collage of Rob/John pics back in January because I just about died when I saw the similarities between these two amazing men that I adore.
I totally think Rob could play John Lennon if they ever made another biopic of John.
Then a few weeks ago, I was driving to work, listening to my iPod and the song
"Out The Blue" by John Lennon came on.
I must have listened 6 times that day because it reminded me of Robsten.
Out the Blue
by John Lennon
Out the blue you came to me
And blew away life's misery
Out the blue life's energy
Out the blue you came to me
Everyday I thank the Lord and Lady
For the way that you came to me
Anyway it had to be two minds one destiny
Out the blue you came to me
And blew away life's misery
Out the blue life's energy
Out the blue you came to me
All my life's been a long slow knife
I was born just to get to you
Anyway I survived long enough to make you my wife
Out the blue you came to me
And blew away life's misery
Out the blue life's energy
Out the blue you came to me
Like a U.F.O. you came to me
And blew away life's misery
Out the blue life's energy
Out the blue you came to me
Last night I threw together a little video. It's not a great job or anything.
I just really wanted pics of Robsten with that song.
Peace and Love,
I totally see it :) I'm listening to NPR and having a good cry... I love this blog post so much!
ReplyDeleteAwww! Thanks Euzacruza! It's so sad. So we just have to keep honoring him and cherishing his memory. :)
ReplyDeleteYou totally nailed it, especially the collage. I was a John fan, and only for you, will I admit that I remember watching them live on the Ed Sullivan show (I was a wee baby, wink) with my nose up to the TV, screaming like the rest of the bitches were. Sadly, I moved away from my love of John, didn't like the way things went down with him, Paul and Yoko, but when he was shot I remember feeling like a whole was left in the world.
ReplyDeleteThis post was bittersweet, nice!
Tell Matt I think John would be impressed with the birthday tribute, as he appreciated artists. That picture is truly a work of art, with all the pure innocence of a six year old.
ReplyDeleteOh, Marie, this is absolutely beautiful. I wish I'd had this to link to when I did my post :( I remember your collage now, too.
ReplyDeleteRobsten videos always touch me, and that is an awesome song choice to set pictures of them too. I'd never seen the one at the 1:05 mark!! Look how big his hand looks on her waist? Gah!
Matt did a great job, too.
